Fall Flavors: Tremonte’s Autumn Events and Restaurant News!

Tremonte’s in the Seattle Times!

My dearest blog readers, I certainly hope none of you are holding me accountable for (or even remember) my New Year’s resolution to write more on the blog. Because it’s been, well, months.

To be honest, I haven’t really felt like writing. It was a weird summer.

I owe you an update though. So, here’s a brief recap of what’s been going on with the biz the past few months. And, after that, I have exciting news!

Tremonte’s summer started off with a bang. In case you missed it, Jackie Varriano, of the Seattle Times (ever heard of it?!), wrote a truly lovely feature on me that was published at the end of May. It resulted in a frenzy of activity for the biz. Which is really where I like to be, lots of baking, and not a whole lot else. Ha!

That was followed up, about a month later, with a delightful mention on the Seattle Eats podcast. They tasted my rainbow cookie, and you have to hear their notes. They’re incredible and hilarious! So, that kicked off another little wave of cookie ordering.

Another fun thing that came out of the media buzz was interest from local restaurants. I’ve been talking with a few local spots about collabs. More on that later.

100F in Yakima

Things slowed down in August though. It was actually a welcome break after the early summer flurry of activity. Our family got to take a little vacay to… the Yakima Valley! I know, it might seem like an interesting choice to go there in peak summer, it was 100F every day, but, it was actually the highlight of my summer.

We ate pastries every morning from Panaderia Santos in Tieton, WA.

We spent our days eating, swimming, reading, and eating. Being there reminded me of the many summer trips our family took to visit family in the Central Valley of California. The abundance of ripe, local produce, scorching hot days spent at the community pool, cool breezes in the evening, and great Mexican food.

I put a bunch of food recs for the area on my instagram stories, and pinned it to my profile. So check it out, if you’re in the area!

So, there were a lot of good times this summer. And there were some rough times for too. Both personally, and you know, in our country and world.

On the personal note, we experienced a death in the family this summer. It was not only incredibly sad, but it also sent unexpected reverberations through our family. In all honesty, I’m still processing, so I don’t have much to report, besides just keeping it real about what’s going on.

So, let’s just say, I’m so excited to be moving forward into my favorite season: fall!!

There’s a fresh nip in the air. The leaves are starting to change color. It’s cross country season. And it’s finally sweater weather!

And I have some big autumnal business news to share with you too!

I have started one of the restaurant collabs I mentioned. This one is with Tavolata.

Ethan Stowell’s team reached out about working together after reading the feature in the Seattle Times. It took us a while to figure out timing and logistics, but we did, and it is on!

I’m currently baking in the kitchen at Tavolata’s Stone Way location. My cookies are featured on their dessert menu now. So run on over there and get yourself a delicious meal of handmade pasta. Then cap it off with a Tremonte’s x Tavolata signature dessert item! We came up with some fun pairings for the cookies. Affogato or vin santo anyone?

The idea is that we’ll be expanding the cookie menu to the Capitol Hill location as well as offering to-go items. So, keep track of what I’m up to over there by following Tavolata on instagram and subscribing to their newsletter.

I’m super excited for this pivot towards restaurant work. And I’ve got more in the works, as far as that goes. But, I’m also still operating special orders and pop-ups!

A special order just like this could be yours!

Check out my fall/holiday event schedule for all the deets. And, remember, I’m here for your special order needs as well!

I’ve got a lot of fun stuff coming up. So, I’ll see you back here soon for more! I promise I won’t leave you hanging as long.

In the meantime, please let me know if you try my menu items at Tavolata and what you think!
